
Reggie Lee, half Filipino-Chinese mother and pure Filipino Father, continues to shine on high-profile Hollywood movies. He acted with top Hollywood actors such as Johnny Depp in “Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End”, Chow Yun-Fat and Vin Dieasel in “The Fast and the Furious.” He also has a movie this year entitled “Tropic Thunder” with Ben Stiller and also a horror movie written by Sam Raimi entitled “Drag Me to Hell.”
Despite moving into the United Stated at age 6, he remained a Filipino at heart and revealed that he love to eat Filipino foods such as Chicken Adobo, Kare-kare and ube ice cream. He speaks Tagalog because his parents speaks Tagalog. “I also wanted to continually learn the language—as part of keeping my heritage. You really have to want to speak it to retain it and I’m proud that I do. I’m still learning all the Tagalog slang that keeps cropping up, though.” he says.
He also likes watching variety shows like “ASAP” and “SOP” and when he’s watching, he is reminded of how amazing Filipino artists are. By that his favorite actors are Christopher de Leon and Sharon Cuneta and confessed that the last Filipino movie he saw was “Santa Santita” which he really enjoyed watching.
When asked what he remembers of the Philippines, he answered “The simple way of life. Simple joys and pleasures we often lose track of. Family get-togethers, good food, going to a corner store to buy a comic book, buying taho from a street vendor and the wonderful trips to Baguio.”
He planned to visit the Philippines next year since he haven’t been back for over 20 years. Lastly, when asked if he is willing like to act in a Filipino movie, his simple answer was “Willing to? Would love to?.”

I love Reggie Lee in Prison Break even though his role was intimidating. He did well on that series. It’s good to know Hollywood actors such as him still traces back their Filipino roots. Hope other stars would do too. I’m looking forward to his new movies and hope he does well in Hollywood.
